June 2016 sales numbers have been released by SIAM and the team at EMMAAA has analysed the numbers in detail.
With Maruti-Suzuki forced to close its plants for about nine days, June Passenger Vehicle dispatch numbers had no hope of delivering any growth. We did see a minor fall in dispatches and had it not been for the plant closure at MSIL, we might have been in the positive zone.
Things were bad for some Commercial Vehicles segments as Buses and MCVs took a break.
The two-wheeler segment had a good month with Scooters delivering extraordinary strong growth numbers. Even the volume segment in Motorcycles delivered a small improvement in dispatches.
