April 2016 sales numbers have been released by SIAM and the team at EMMAAA has analysed the numbers in detail.
April is a new start, a clean slate, for everyone. You, and your dealer, have rid yourselves of the ghost of the financial year ending and some inventory management is already taken care of. In light of this, most numbers in April looked quite good. Apart from Passenger Cars, most other segments reported good data.
Passenger Cars again faced a roadblock even as a heathy UV segment and a resurgent Vans segment ensured that Passenger Vehicles registered a 11% sales growth.
Things were better elsewhere. Commercial Vehicles continued to grow as per trend and even Small Trucks and Light Commercial Vehicles reported strong growth in dispatches.
The two-wheeler segment had a good month with Scooters delivering extraordinary strong growth numbers. Even Motorcycles in the volume segments saw a strong uptick in sales.
